STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Stewardship Really Matters
"Better to take refuge in the Lord than to put one's trust in mortals." (Psalm 118:8)

Too often our society trains us to take refuge in man-made riches. Too many possesions can leave us empty, always questing for more things that do not really matter. The good we do and blessings we recieved from giving our time, talent and treasure in Stewardship really matter.

HOUSE OF CHARITY
Please begin to think about your annual contribution to the House of Charity as we start our campaign with the shore parishes of the Diocese of Camden. The parish successfully raised it's goal of $13,000.00 during our last campaign and as a result, we received a check in the amount of $1,300.00 (10 percent of the goal.)

Father Bill will be coordinating the House of Charity campaign as he has done before. Again, thank you for your generosity in the past.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Hands and Feet of Stewardship
"Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have." (Luke 24:38-39)

These words from the Risen Christ are good advice when we are troubled or doubtful about our stewardship decisions. Just look at the hands and feet of the Lord. How can we refuse to be the hands and feet of Jesus, living out the sharing of our time, talent and treasure here on earth.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES
By Bud Ozar
In today's gospel, the disciples recognized Jesus only after they ate with Him. Only then did their fear leave them. Perhaps we would relieve anxiety in our homes if we shared in more focused family meals.

Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass
If this year, (Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2009) you are celebrating your 25th Wedding Anniversary, 50th Wedding Anniversary, or more than 50 years of marriage, please join us in celebrating on: Sunday May 17, with 3:00 pm Mass
(light reception following)
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church
591 New Jersey Ave. Absecon, NJ
Please call 856-583-6118 for further information

Marriage Moments
It's so tempting when another insults or hurts you to reply in kind. Tempting, but not helpful to your marriage. It may seem counter-intuitive to suck it up, but it's not a new idea. Consider the scripture "Do not return evil for evil, or insult." (1 Peter 3:9)

An Evening with an Exorcist
The Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent Pallotti Council #347 presents "An Evening with an Exorcist", guest speaker and exorcist, Fr. Thomas J. Euteneruer. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
"The comunity of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possession was his own, but they had everything in common." (Acts 4:32)

Stewardship calls us to recognize, just as the early Christians did, that none of our possessions are our own. All that we have - our health, our education, our skills, our talents, and our livelihood - are gifts from God. How do we give back of our time, talent and treasure to God?

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Thankful Stewards
“Give thanks to the Lord, who is good, whose love endures forver." (Psalm 118:1)

We thank God for His Son Jesus, who died and arose for us. We celebrate and sing, "Alleluia." But how do we live the responsibility of our Stewardship all year, showing our gratitude to the Lord who spread out His arms on the cross to save us and show us the way to salvation.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES
By Bud Ozar
Look at all the running on the first Easter as Mary, John and Peter searched for Jesus. Easter announces we don't need to run around to find the Lord. He is discovered in sacrificial love of parents, in moments of forgiveness, in laughter and love shared, in a comforting hug and a meal shared together.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Stewardship is Needed
If anyone should say to you, "Why are you doing this?" reply, "The Master has need of it and will send it back here at once." (Mark 11:3)

Why are you doing this? This is a question that could be asked of anyone who gives time, talent and treasure to the church. An answer is found in these words, "The Master is in need of it." As stewards, we are called to give of ourselves to the Lord in the ministries where we are most needed.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
By Bud Ozar
Following Christ is not easy. Like Jesus we will experience betrayal, denial, being ignored, falsely accused and left alone. Even friends will "look on from afar." Family is the gift given to us so we never stand alone. Being together is the stuff of holiness.

EASTER FLOWERS
All Flower money needs to be in by this weekend. We will print a list in the Easter Bulletin.

DAY AT SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL
On Friday, April 24, 2009, all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are invited to attend "DAY AT SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL." It will be an interesting, informative and enjoyable day. It is designed to better acquaint the students with our fine school.
The program will begin at 8:30am and conclude at 1:15pm. Parents are certainly invited to spend the day with us also. Please call us at (856) 691-4491 ext. 1111 to advise if you will be attending.
