STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Conscious Stewards

"Your surplus at the present time should supply their needs." (II Corinthians: 14a)
As conscious stewards, we count our blessings and when we see that we have been abundantly blessed by God, we become willing to share our time, talent, and treasure with those who we are called to support.

SILENT RETREAT
A Woman's Silent Retreat sponsored by The Mother of Divine Mercy Center of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and spiritually directed by Father Ariel Hernandez will be held on July 17-19 at Pope John Paul II Retreat Center in Vineland, NJ. All are invited to the peace and quiet that the presence of God provides, and to awaken a new life filled with faith, where you will come away and experience the companionship and comfort of the One who says, "Be still and know that I am God."

For more information, please contact Cynthia Radano (856) 451-0880.

MERGER CORNER
The balloting for the naming of the new parish began last weekend and will conclude today. Please make your selection and return your ballot today. The results will be forwarded to Bishop Galante, who will review the results and select a name. Your input is very important in this process and your participation is much appreciated.

The Transitional Liturgy Committee met June 15 at St. Michael's and started the process of selecting chairpersons for the various subcommittees. Nancy Ewing, from St. Teresa's, and June Seiber, from St. Mary's, will co-chair the Decorations/Environment subcommittee. The Transitional Liturgy Committee also decided that the Liturgy Committee for the new parish would be formulated in the same manner as the Transitional Liturgy Committee, with representation from each of the four merging parishes along with the Priests and Deacons. There was also a review for the various ministries at each church, particularly the music ministries, in preparation for the merger. The next meeting of the Transitional Liturgy Committee is July 6 at Immaculate Conception. The next meeting of the Transitional Finances/Facilities Committee will be on June 30.

A second Unity Hymn Sing is scheduled for August 21. The site is yet to be determined.

We thank you for your prayers and support as we move through this process.

CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE NEW MERGED PARISH NAME

The following choices for the name of our merging parishes of St. Michael, St. Mary of Rosenhayn, St. Teresa of Avila and Immaculate Conception will be printed in our upcoming bulletin. Your help in casting the vote for our new name is an integral part of our four churches becoming one merged parish. Please cast your vote and drop your choice in the collection plate during Mass. Thank you.

List of suggested names for our Parish Merger

1. THE HOLY CROSS
The Holy Cross represents the triumph of God's great love. Jesus, the Lamb of God, died on the Holy Cross for each of us, for our salvation, and for our healing. The Holy Cross is a sign of love, mercy and forgiveness. Let us look to the Holy Cross for unity and healing. The four churches in our parish merger form the horizontal and vertical beams of the cross.

2. MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS
Throughout history, Mary has been the Help of Christians. She interceded at the Wedding Feast of Cana. She saved Europe in the Battle of Lepanto. She continues to bring heavenly help at Fatima and at Lourdes. She intercedes for all those who seek her help, especially through the rosary.

3. MARY QUEEN OF ALL THE SAINTS
Mary is the model of discipleship for all the saints. Many of the saints consecrated their lives to Our Lady, seeking her guidance and protection. Our merger has two churches named for saints and two churches named for Mary.

4. ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS
St. John of the Cross was a Spanish Carmelite priest, a great mystic and a Doctor of the Church. With Teresa of Avila, he reformed the Carmelite Order. He was the spiritual director of Teresa of Avila.

5. ST. VINCENT de PAUL
St. Vincent de Paul was a French priest who founded the Vincentians and cofounded the Sisters of Charity. He dedicated his long life to helping the poor and needy. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is named for him.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
"Then he asked them, 'Why are you terrified?' Do you not yet have faith?'" (Mark 4:40)

The thought of Stewardship terrifies some of us. We may feel that we cannot afford to give God a grateful share or to give the first fruits rather than the leftovers. It takes great faith and trust to believe that God will always provide us with all that we need, if we trust Him enough to give to Him first.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
By Bud Ozar
The apostles in today's gospel were amazed at the power of Jesus. Children are amazed at our lack of fear of dark rooms or monsters in closets or under beds. As the apostles depended on Jesus, children depend on us to restore quiet to their lives. Getting out of bed in the middle of the night to quiet a child's fears is the stuff of holiness.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
"The Perfect Steward"
"Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it." (Mark 14:23)

Jesus, the perfect steward gave thanks, offering His disciples, including us, a chance to drink from His own cup. We can respond to the Eucharist by offering our time, talent, and treasure as a means of sacrificial giving.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
By Bud Ozar
In the gospel today, Jesus tells his disciples, "you will meet a man. . . follow him . . . he will show you." Every child needs "a man" to "follow" who gives them direction, not so much by words, but by "showing." Fathers are called to be "the man," the "show-man."

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
"Stewardship Spirit"
"The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ." (Romans 8:16, 17a)

If we are heirs to the Kingdom of God, should we not work to build up that Kingdom, by being good stewards of our inheritance, using our time, talent and treasure to care for the treasured heirloom of our church?

Thank you in advance for your generosity in the second collection today which is taken up for the Brazilian Missions. Your support will help assist this important mission work in South America.
