MERGER CORNER
The Priest Co-Conveners and Core Team thank our fellow parishioners for their participation in the naming of the new parish. The results of balloting over two weekends at the four merging parishes have been forwarded to Bishop Galante for his review.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
"Stewardship Baggage"
"He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick - no food, no sack, no money in the belts." (Mark 6:8)
How different are we than the Apostles who took nothing when they ventured out to serve God? Today, we make our journey through stewardship more difficult if we drag along too much material baggage. The more we can let go, the freer we are to serve God with love and joy.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES By Bud Ozar
Jesus sent out His apostles without a lot of "things." Today's gospel challenges us to look at the "things" crowding our lives; we collect, possess, argue over, and worry about "things." Often we are so busy doing "things" we don't have time for the people closest to us. Are "things" separating you from your family?

MARRIAGE MOMENTS
What's the most important factor in choosing a spouse? Not even Solomon should attempt to answer this, but consider the following three ingredients: Physical attraction + shared values + full commitment = a good chance to make a marriage work.

PARENTING POINTERS
Do summer days with kids wear you out? Even if your children are past the napping stage, consider an "after lunch quiet hour." Kids don't have to sleep, just spend some time reading, drawing, or daydreaming. Having moments of quiet during the day give God space to enter our lives.

SILENT RETREAT
A Woman's Silent Retreat sponsored by The Mother of Divine Mercy Center of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and spiritually directed by Father Ariel Hernandez will be held on July 17-19 at Pope John Paul II Retreat Center in Vineland, NJ. All are invited to the peace and quiet that the presence of God provides, and to awaken a new life filled with faith, where you will come away and experience the companionship and comfort of the One who says, "Be still and know that I am God."
