MERGER CORNER
The Core Team's Transitional Finance and Facilities Committee formed a Human Resources subcommittee that will review the staffing needs of the new parish and report back to the Core Team.
The Transitional Liturgy Committee met to review the lists of tasks sent by the Diocese for the committee to complete before the merger, and it was determined that the committee had addressed all of the issues. The Transitional Liturgy Committee also shared ideas about the Liturgy for the merger and will continue that discussion at the next meeting. Included in the agenda for the next meeting will be the formation of a Music Council.
The Transitional Ministry Committee also met and among the topics discussed was a Youth Ministry for the new parish.
The Core Team has also begun the process of writing a Mission Statement for the new parish through a subcommittee that will include members from each of the four merging parishes.

PARISH APPEAL - PETER'S PENCE COLLECTION
Today, we recall the apostolic journey of Pope Benedict XVI to the United States and his call to us to cast the light of Christ upon the world. We can show our solidarity with the Holy Father and our sufferring brothers and sisters abarod through our support of this week's Collection. These funds allow him to provide emergency assistance to victims of war, disaster, oppression, and disease. Please be generous in today's Peter's Pence Collection.

To better serve our parish community, St. Michael's Rectory will be open an additional weekday on Wednesdays 9:00-2:00 pm beginning September 16, 2009. We request that you please try and increase your Sunday offering to help pay our increased expenses. Thank you.



CCD Registration 2009-2010
Registration for CCD will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass in the church. Cost will be $50.00 for one child or $75.00 per family. Late registration cost will be $100.00. Any students who will be new to our CCD this year are required to bring birth certificates as well as proof of any sacraments recieved.
