Petition Drive to Protect Marriage - In New Jersey, we are in the midst of a major effort to protect marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Governor Corzine has said he intends to enact a law that would make same-sex “marriage” legal in our state. The Bishops of New Jersey have united to oppose this effort to redefine marriage, while speaking out more clearly on the necessity to protect marriage as the foundation of the family and society. Part of the effort throughout the state is a petition signature drive in our parishes. This is your opportunity to send a message to your legislators that you want to protect and preserve marriage as the union of one man and one woman. This signature petition drive is set to take place later in the month of September, so that the signatures may reach the legislators before the November elections. Please read the petition below and take the time to sign the petition on the weekend(s) that the sheets are available. Petition: We, the undersigned parishioners, petition our members of the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate to preserve the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The institution of marriage existed long before any government, religion, or law. The Civil Union Act (NMJ Statutes 37:1-28) Chapter 103 of the laws of 2006 was enacted to give same-sex couples all the same rights and benefits as married couples. We respectfully ask you to enforce the Civil Union Act, and to reject all efforts to redefine marriage.

Retirement Party for Father Bill Details are not finalized but the planning committee has begun meeting. We are starting early with planning the program booklet and need pictures of Father Bill. If you have any pictures that you would like to donate, you can send them to the Rectory or email them to us. Originals will not be returned. Color copies or duplicates are preferred. We are also accepting tax-deductible monetary donations to help defray the cost of the expenses. Thank you.
